LinkCart is a small app run by Recursis Holdings. Here's what we do with your data, in plain words.
- Early-access & newsletter list: we store your email only to contact you about LinkCart. Reply to any email and we'll delete you from the list.
- App accounts (beta): we store your email, your saved recipes, your favorite brands, your chosen store, your household size, and your meal-week plan.
- Your preferences: the diets you pick, and any brands, products, or ingredients you block (for example, an allergy list) are stored with your account. When products come up, your blocked ingredients are compared against the product's label right then to show you contains / can't determine / not found. Label text is shown to you and never saved by us.
- Items you add to your cart: when you tap "add," we log the product's UPC, its description, its brand, and the ingredient it was for. That log is what powers your "running low?" reminders and "your usual" ranking. That log is the only thing we ever see about your Kroger cart — the connection is add-only; we never read your cart or your orders.
- AI (Anthropic): reading a recipe is done by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. To do that we send Anthropic what you gave us: recipe text, pasted text, photos or screenshots, the link you pasted and the page/caption/transcript we fetched from it, product photos, and product names for matching — plus the change you asked for (like "make it vegan") and your household size when a transform, the Chef, or a week list needs them. Anthropic processes this under its API terms and does not use it to train its models. We don't send your email or account details along with it.
- Kroger: you connect your own Kroger account directly with Kroger; we never see your Kroger password. The connection token is stored encrypted in a cookie on your device, not in our database. Product search results and label data pass through to your screen and aren't stored by us.
- Traffic counts: we use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast pages load. Both are cookieless and anonymous — they tell us "12 people opened the app today," never who you are or what you cooked.
- Email: sign-in codes, invites, and the occasional update go out through Resend, our email provider. It sees your email address and the message, nothing more.
- Keeping the door locked: we record when you last signed in, and we keep your IP address briefly to stop brute-force sign-ins and abuse — about a day for sign-in attempts, about a week for daily usage counts. Then it's gone.
- Cookies: a sign-in cookie, your Kroger connection (encrypted), and a beta-access key. No ad or tracking cookies.
- We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to anyone, not ever. That's an identity thing, not a legal-fine-print thing.
- Deletion: email linkcart@recursisdigital.com and we'll erase everything we have about you.
Recipe changes like "make it vegan" are cooking suggestions, not medical or nutrition advice. Ingredient screening is informational — it reads labels and can't see cross-contact — never a safety guarantee. The terms say more.
